Ian’s career began at Pye recording studios in the 70s, and he secured his first audio mastering post at Utopia. Whilst there, he worked on legendary tracks ‘Heroes’ by David Bowie and ‘Lust for Life’ by Iggy Pop. The Boomtown Rats and Heatwave were also regular clients during this time. He moved to the newly established Townhouse Studios where he mastered classic albums such as ‘Dare’ by Human League, ‘Face Value’ by Phil Collins, ‘Hounds of Love’ by Kate Bush and ‘So’ by Peter Gabriel.

Moving to Metropolis Mastering in the early 90s, Ian went on to work with Oasis, The Verve, Sting, The Fratellis and Tina Turner. Widely regarded as one of the world’s best audio mastering engineers resulting in being awarded a Grammy Award in 2010 for “Take Your Pick” by Larry Carlton & Tak Mat Sum Oto (best pop instrumental album) and a Latin Grammy in 2011 for “La Orilla De Mi Pelo” by Nina Pastori (best Flamenco album!).
