Metropolis Mastering loves working with new artists and bands, the oxygen of our industry. Here is a collection of acts mastered here in 2013 that we think you will be hearing a lot more from this year!
Jungle have already gained recognition throughout the industry as the next exciting duo. Producing killer tunes in abundance whilst perfecting the great live show you can catch them on tour this year before they truly hit the big time, and are no longer our big little secret!
Key Track: “Platoon”
If ridiculously talented young singer songwriters are your thing look no further than Annie Eve. An authentic artist with beautiful songs with stylistic nods to the greats like Bon Iver, Patti Smith and Joni Mitchell we definitely think she is one to watch.
Key Track: “Bodyweight”
Southern are a brother-sister duo hailing from Belfast with a habit of writing catchy blues infused folk songs. On the back of the success from their self-titled EP released in late 2013, they will play the NME Awards show at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire as well as this years Secret Garden Party.
Key Track: “World Don’t Shine”
ELLA EYRE (pictured, right)
If you don’t recognise the name you will definitely recognise the voice! After lending her vocals to Rudimental for their hit “Waiting All Night”, Ella begins her first UK headline tour in March, following on from the release of her debut EP “Deeper”.
Key Track: “Deeper”
With his debut album due for release in Spring, you might be wondering why Sam Smith sounds so familiar. In fact Sam spent 2013 all over our screens and stereos after lending his unique vocal talents to some of the biggest songs of the year; “Latch” by Disclosure and “La La La” by Naughty Boy (both also mastered here at Metropolis).
Key Track: “Money On My Mind”
This Brighton based duo make raucously loud rock n roll, which is as unapologetic as it is fast and powerful. They can name Matt Helders from Arctic Monkeys as a super fan and it looks like he won’t be the only rock royalty to become enamoured with the group.
Key Track: “Out Of The Black”
