Metropolis would like to extend huge congratulations to Adele, who took the 2016 Brit Awards by storm. Since recording her third album, 25, here at Metropolis, the singer has gone on to break several sales records and last night picked up a further four gongs, including; British Female Solo Artist, British Single (Hello), Global Success, and, Mastercard British Album of the Year (25).
Metropolis, one of the world’s largest recording complexes, is hugely proud of the work of its engineering team who contributed to the album. Engineer Liam Nolan is credited on Adele’s 25, including an engineering credit on the album’s Brit Award winning single, Hello.
“We are always delighted to welcome Adele into Metropolis. She also recorded her 21 album with us and it is such a pleasure to be a part of the creative process that produces her work. It is fitting too that she should have made her 25 album with us as we have recently celebrated our 25th Birthday. We knew whatever she released next would be huge and the acclaim for the album is so well deserved. We’re very proud of our engineering and studios team who worked on this one.”
Ian Brenchley, CEO.
We’re also delighted to have worked with the best in new music. Our Mastering team have been on fire over the last few years, with last night’s recognition for Catfish And The Bottlemen (British Breakthrough Act) and Jack Garratt (Critics Choice) looking to continue that trend. Metropolis mastering engineers John Davis and Stuart Hawkes lent their expertise to each artist respectively.
Well done to all the nominees, a cracking achievement! What a great start to 2016!
