Hailing from Brighton, The Watermelons are a hook driven indie quartet known for mixing upbeat, dancey riffs with melodic, thoughtful vocals – drawing influence from the likes of Elliott Smith, The Libertines and Paul Simon. The band have performed at some of the country’s most prestigious venues and have received critical acclaim from Blur’s Alex James, BBC Introducing and Tom Odell.
Flags have been favourably received on BBC Introducing, by Brian Kennedy at XFM, played on Amazing Radio and praised by ex-Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe as being “One’s to Watch”. Past gigs have included Proud, the Camden Barfly, and The Queen of Hoxton, plus numerous festival appearances, including Strawberry Fields Festival, Fear of Fiction and Knee Deep Festival.
Callum Stewart has already been attracting the attention of major names in the music industry and after a spectacular year in 2014 he worked with the likes of Nile Rodgers and Rudimental on the re-mix of “Le Freak”.
XANDER & THE KEYS
Xander & The Keys are an indie-rock band from Bournemouth. 2014 saw the band play over 150+ gigs including a successful tour of Croatia amongst UK pubs, clubs and festivals. 2015 is set to be a great year returning to Croatia on the line up of one of their major festivals, as well as confirmation of supporting Status Quo at Letchlade festival in the summer.
Vaude Villains, a quartet from Brighton, first attracted the attention of ex A&R Heads Jack Steven and Peter Hadfield entering a mentoring programme with them – the pair responsible for signings such as Florence and the Machine and Arctic Monkeys. The band have since played across the biggest unsigned venues across Brighton and London in preparation for their debut single release ‘Alabama’.
