Bio

Sanjana has always been fascinated by sound. From a young age, she was interested in the details, from which microphones were used on drum kits to how pianos were captured in different recordings. That curiosity naturally led her toward the studio environment, where she’s been determined to build her career.

In 2023, she joined Metropolis Studios, marking the start of her professional journey in the industry. Since then, she’s been working across a wide range of artists and genres, continuing to develop her technical skills while deepening her understanding of different recording techniques.

Her growing interest in vintage equipment has led her to explore tape machines and analogue gear, shaping both her sound and approach in the studio. Recently, she has been involved in the studio’s Live to Tape sessions, working with artists such as The Snuts and AKA, assisting throughout the Live to Tape sessions, from recording directly to tape through to the mixing stage.

She’s always excited to learn and be part of each artist’s journey.

Bio

Harpaal is an incredibly dedicated assistant engineer.

He has an innate ability to ensure the room has a great vibe, in order to allow artists maximum creativity. Often resulting in him being requested by the same artists time and again.

This has allowed him to play an integral part in projects with Jungle, Stormzy, AJ Tracey and Bakar, to name a few. Harpaal also worked on Record Store Day 2020’s live-to-vinyl recording with The Big Moon and live-to-vinyl with Nothing But Thieves.

Over a decade of experience at Metropolis Studios across a wide variety of session formats and currently working predominantly as engineer for rising star Raye.

Alex’s Recent Highlights: 

Raye & Hans Zimmer – Mother Nature

Vocal engineering for Raye on the British institution that is the Planet Earth series. Hans Zimmer’s composing created a moving backdrop for the words of Sir David Attenborough. A stunning collaboration.

Dodie – Live To Vinyl

Engineered & mixed this beautifully crafted live-to-vinyl set which featured all of Dodie’s trademark character and charm taking the listener from the intimate to soaring soundscapes.  

George Ezra – Amazon Live (Sony 360RA session)

Record & mixed this reimagining of 6 tracks from his chart-topping album Gold Rush Kid specifically for immersive audio. Using multiple immersive recording arrays we sonically mapped studio A for George’s performance delivering a truly unique experience.

Everything Everything – Live To Vinyl

Engineered & mixed one of the most ambitious live-to-vinyl sessions. The guys delivered a stunning set whilst we stretched the limits of the studio’s flexibility to creatively deliver a truly special session.   

Common – Oblivion (Noname/Common/Ayoni)

Vocal engineering for the legendary American rapper. Always a highlight when Common comes to town.
